Bio

Dr. Sylvie Lambert, RN, PhD is an Associate Professor and Associate Director of Research at McGill University’s Ingram School of Nursing, and a Scientist at St. Mary’s Research Centre in Montreal. She also holds a CIHR Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Self-Care and Illness Self-Management Support. Dr. Lambert’s research is driven by a clear vision: to make cancer care more person-centered, equitable, and sustainable. Her work spans the development and evaluation of low-cost, scalable self-management interventions, the real-world implementation of patient- and family-reported outcome (PRO/FRO) programs, and the adaptation of evidence-based approaches for culturally and linguistically diverse populations. She also uses advanced psychometric methods to strengthen how outcomes are measured and understood. Among her flagship initiatives are TEMPO, a tailored web-based self-management and physical activity program for men with prostate cancer and their caregivers—now being tested in a pan-Canadian CIHR-funded trial—and e-IMPAQc, a province-wide effort to implement electronic PROMs across the cancer continuum in Quebec. Supported by over $2 million in funding, e-IMPAQc was recently recognized by the Quebec Cancer Control Program for its innovation and impact. Dr. Lambert’s work has earned national and international recognition for advancing patient- and family-centered innovation in oncology and beyond.
