Dr. Angela Fong
Developing a Knowledge Translation Tool to Facilitate Physical Activity Discussions in Oncology Care
Biography:
Dr. Angela Fong is a faculty member (Instructor of Medicine) in Population Science at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and in Medical Oncology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers University. Her research program aims to understand the influence of physical activity on psychosocial outcomes in women diagnosed with cancer from health psychology and knowledge translation. Dr. Fong has received funding from the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and the Cancer Center Support Grant from Rutgers University.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify current knowledge-to-practice gaps in oncology practice with respect to physical activity promotion among cancer survivors
- Describe a mixed-methods approach to applying the AGREE II instrument in oncology care and health promotion contexts
- Identify areas for future research using knowledge translation science to promote physical activity among cancer survivors
