Biography:
Samira Rahimi Eng. Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at McGill University and affiliated scientist at Lady Davis Institute of Jewish General Hospital. She is member of Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and Cardiometabolic Health Diabetes and Obesity research network. Dr Rahimi is recipient of numerous scholarships, fellowships and awards among them the 2015 Canada Women in Engineering award of IEEE.
She has worked on several Artificial Intelligence (AI)-related projects in different contexts, and currently Chairing AAAI symposium on “applied AI in health care” that will be held on March 2020 at Stanford University.
With an interdisciplinary background, Dr.Rahimi is interested in integrating human centered AI tools in health care, as well as development, evaluation, and implementation of clinical decision support tools and patient decision aids to facilitate shared decision-making and KT. She specialises in computational intelligence, decision making, and applied operational research in health care.
