DESCRIPTION:Presenters: Dr. Heather Gainforth \nPresentation topic:Transforming research systems for meaningful engagement \nDr. Gainforth will discuss their research that aims to foster and support authentic partnerships. Drawing on extensive work within spinal cord injury (SCI) research\, this talk will examine how the Integrated Knowledge Translation (IKT) Guiding Principles can be leveraged to foster collaboration between researchers and research users. Dr. Gainforth will provide practical strategies for upholding these principles and address barriers and facilitators to using the principles. Identify necessary systemic shifts required to enable and sustain authentic research partnerships. \nBio \nDr. Heather Gainforth is an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia Okanagan and a Canada Research Chair in Research Coproduction and Implementation Science. Dr. Gainforth is the Director of UBC’s Centre for Health Behaviour Change and the Associate Director of Meaningful Engagement within the International Collaboration on Repair Discoveries. She is a leader in meaningful engagement and research coproduction\, helping to bridge gaps between researchers and those who use research. Through her work\, she has led an international partnership who co-developed guiding principles for conducting and disseminating spinal cord injury (SCI) research in partnership.

Summarize the development\, core components\, and initial evaluation of an implementation toolkit for maternal-newborn settings. \nBio \nDr. Jessica Reszel is a Registered Nurse who recently completed her PhD in the School of Nursing at the University of Ottawa\, where her research focused on making implementation science knowledge practical and useful for healthcare providers in maternal-newborn settings. She currently works as a Knowledge Translation Specialist at the Better Outcomes Registry & Network (BORN Ontario)\, the province’s perinatal\, newborn\, and child data registry\, supporting the effective use of BORN data and innovations to improve care and inform policy.

DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE! \nPresenter: Dr. Sylvie Lambert \nPresentation topic: The Time Is Now: Advancing Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in Cancer Care Through Implementation Science \nDate & time: Thurs\, September 10\, 2026; 12:00-1:00pm Eastern time \nLearning objectives – by the end of the presentation\, participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify common multilevel barriers and facilitators to implementing PROMs in cancer care.\nUse CFIR and ERIC to match implementation barriers with evidence-informed strategies.\nDevelop practical approaches for integrating and sustaining PROMs within routine clinical workflows.\n\nBio \nDr. Sylvie Lambert\, RN\, PhD is an Associate Professor and Associate Director of Research at McGill University’s Ingram School of Nursing\, and a Scientist at St. Mary’s Research Centre in Montreal. She also holds a CIHR Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Self-Care and Illness Self-Management Support. Dr. Lambert’s research is driven by a clear vision: to make cancer care more person-centered\, equitable\, and sustainable. Her work spans the development and evaluation of low-cost\, scalable self-management interventions\, the real-world implementation of patient- and family-reported outcome (PRO/FRO) programs\, and the adaptation of evidence-based approaches for culturally and linguistically diverse populations. She also uses advanced psychometric methods to strengthen how outcomes are measured and understood. Among her flagship initiatives are TEMPO\, a tailored web-based self-management and physical activity program for men with prostate cancer and their caregivers—now being tested in a pan-Canadian CIHR-funded trial—and e-IMPAQc\, a province-wide effort to implement electronic PROMs across the cancer continuum in Quebec. Supported by over $2 million in funding\, e-IMPAQc was recently recognized by the Quebec Cancer Control Program for its innovation and impact. Dr. Lambert’s work has earned national and international recognition for advancing patient- and family-centered innovation in oncology and beyond.

She is a Full Professor at Université du Québec à Rimouski and Canada Research Chair on Psychosocial Risks at Work. Her research mainly focuses on the adverse health impacts of psychosocial risks at work and on the development and evaluation of tools and organizational interventions to assess and prevent these risks and promote healthier workplaces. \n  \nLéonie Matteau is a registered nurse and doctoral candidate in the Interdisciplinary Doctorate in Health and Society at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). She completed her initial nursing training at Cégep de Trois-Rivières\, earned a Bachelor of Nursing Sciences from Université de Montréal\, and holds a Master’s degree in Nursing Sciences (Research Profile) from Université du Québec à Rimouski. Under the supervision of Mahee Gilbert-Ouimet\, her doctoral research examines the implementation and effectiveness of a participatory approach to reducing psychosocial risks among healthcare workers. Her research interests include occupational health\, implementation science and process analysis. \n
